Michael Futterman Quoted in SHRM Article on Differential Treatment of “Deskless” Employees

As employers begin to implement plans for return to worksites and hybrid work, they should also consider the “deskless” employees who never had the option of remote work. Michael R. Futterman, a partner in the Employment Counseling group at MARC, was quoted in the August 18 SHRM article “Should ‘Deskless’ and Office Workers Be Treated Differently?” discussing the risks of having different policies for different job titles and departments.

If the differential does exist, Futterman says that “It is important that management – in person, perhaps at a town hall, and in writing – let the deskless workers know how important they are.”
