Asaad K. Siddiqi, Named Vice Chair of New Jersey Lawyer Editorial Board for 2020-2021
The New Jersey State Bar Association named MARC partner Asaad K. Siddiqi as Vice Chair of its New Jersey Lawyer Editorial Board for 2020-2021 on April 23. Asaad has been a board member of the bi-monthly professional journal since 2011, and has served as a special editor of its issues on cyber security, white-collar crime and many other topics. Most recently, Asaad was a co-special editor of the December 2019 tax law issue. He also co-authored an article, “Cannabis Tax Plans: Considerations for New Jersey’s Future,” with MARC associate Allison Zsamba, for that issue. Asaad is a frequent and sought after author and lecturer in his areas of expertise.
As a litigator, Asaad represents businesses and nonprofits, and he counsels clients on employment best practices and government investigations. He also handles estate litigation and attorney ethics matters. Throughout his career, Asaad has been committed to diversity initiatives in the bar. He co-founded the New Jersey Muslim Lawyers Association and is a former board member and Vice President. He was honored by the Muslim Bar Association of New York for dedication to improving the bar, service to the Muslim community and five years of board leadership. From 2009-2013, he served on the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Diversity and Inclusion and chaired its 2012 Diversity Trailblazer Award Criteria Review Subcommittee.
